Dealing with Rocks and Hard Places
How to deal with rocks?
Water seems to have a problem not,
But passes along and seldom stops
Sometimes rocks make dams.
Sometimes rocks stop water;
But not during floods.
How to deal with hard places?
Wind seems to have a problem not,
But sweeps along and seldom stops.
Sometimes hard places make traps.
Sometimes hard places stagnant air;
But not during storms.
Must the flood and storm be embraced
To pass both rock and hard place?
Or, is it good to rest behind
the dam, or in the stagnant pool?
Roots come when motion ceases,
And sprouts extend to rocky creases.
Fish spawn in waters quite,
And surely plants grow abundantly
in the quite of air that's still.
Yet freedom from unnatural things
is left to floods and storms
To move the barrier, refresh the air
And gain the strength that Nature brings.
So let me know, I beseech you God,
Is it better yet just to embrace
the stillness of this special place?
Or, better yet to quickly move
by floods and storms that You have set ?
So let me know, I beseech you God,
to live my life on present sod ?
Or move my feet to other places?
Responding to storms' intense paces.
I will not know the answer soon;
But seeking answers is worth while
And watching flood and storm is still
An amazing us of the time You give.
